Last week, I celebrated the 2 year anniversary of Learn Mindfully!
I’ve been in a bit of a nesting period for my personal life over the last few months, but I wanted to take this opportunity to share some reflections over the last 2 years.
🚧 Obstacles
In Fall 2022, my father had heart failure for the second time. It was a sobering moment that motivated me to step down from my full time executive role and return to my roots in human development and become a certified coach
In early 2023, I made the decision to join an L+D agency that focused supporting folks in the tech space. After 4 months, I unfortunately was laid off due to the changing market conditions
From Summer 2023 - early Spring 2024, I underwent surgery and rehab for a chronic ankle instability. This time was a low point for my depression and anxiety, that caused me to question myself and my path
🎊 Wins
Last year, I took 8 months off from working full time to complete coaching certification and recovery. This time allowed me to refine the vision for Learn Mindfully and even publish the consciously workbook
Spring 2024, I became officially credentialed with my ACC and CPCC. This moment truly cemented the obstacles that I overcame during the last year and my continued passion for this work
I’ve completely bootstrapped the business, taken on no debt, and awarded over $30,000 in scholarships for coaching
💡Learnings
Let is be easeful: Society often perpetuates that you have to hustle, grind, keep calm and carry on. In reality, It doesn't have to be so hard, it can be easeful
Healing is a process not a destination: Just as physical injuries take time, as do internal. I’m constantly peeling layers and becoming a new version of myself
Know your worth: My coach recently told me, when you think small, you stay small. It was an eye opening moment. I had just no idea how much intergenerational trauma was holding me back from moving forward
Community > competition: We’re living in a time that is more divisive than ever. As humans, we go farther together and it's needed more now than ever
Through it all, I’ve doubled down on my business because I believe that leaders at all levels deserve to thrive. I couldn’t have done it all without the support of many:
My partner, Scott, for creating the space for me to just be me. For encouraging me to follow my passion every single day
Fellow coaches who have become amazing partners and helped me refine my vision for what Learn Mindfully could truly become: April Neufeld, Tara Butler-Floch, Sara Wachter-Boettcher, Jen Dionisio, and the entire Coaching Corner Community
My best friend and graphic design partner, Renee Noel-Cutler. I’ve learned how much fun it is to truly work with people who have shared values
My amazing clients - you inspire me every single day!
🗺️ Whats Coming Next
